What would possess anyone to want to build a 900 acre Revit model and use it on a daily basis for over a year?

This case study highlights how BIM played a big part in the design, construction, procurement and facilities management is the largest downhill mountain bike and adventure park in the Southern Hemisphere, Christchurch Adventure Park.

The model was paramount to the delivery of this amazing project and you will get an insight into the design and construction and we will dive into the live model to showcase:

  • How you can setup and effectively manage 900 acres of digital terrain model with 450m of elevation change and in the middle of a forest.
  • Data here, data there, data data everywhere, not all data is created equal!
  • Modelling of unique building elements such as chairlifts, ziplines, mountain coasters, tracks and trails
  • Examples of real world dynamo output used in this project
  • Toys: Total station and drones

About the Speaker:

Tim is director at Construction Workshop, a company who specialise in to project BIM modelling, design coordination, and data handling. Tim has worked in design and construction since the early 2000s when he started labouring on sites. Tim is an architectural designer by trade, but doesn’t seem to do much of that anymore. His main focus is commercial project delivery. When he’s not building things or breaking revit he loves being outside, preferably in the mountains.
