Presentation 1 - BIM Successful Outcomes by Simon Mobley, asBUILT LTD (Event Sponsors)

Fabrication from BIM: An overview of the software workflows of MEP ductwork models to automated ductwork fabrication.
Seismic and BIM: Seismic bracing for building services – NZS 4219! How construction phase models are being used to design and detail bracing requirements.
Scan 2 BIM: Large scale model production from high definition laser scanning and processed point cloud data, an example project from site based reality capture, large data set handling to model handover.

An overview of a 3D MEPF Coordination workflow focused on communication, collaboration and efficiency. Customization and personalizing software to suit our specific needs is where our focus lies.

Templates, plug-ins, and Training are a continual focus to streamline setup for teams on each project. Software and processes presented will cover Revit, RTV Tools for Revit, Navisworks, iConstruct for Navisworks, Microsoft OneNote, #Slack, and AutoTask. A case study of a Health Care project with tips and tricks will be shared.

About the speaker: Nick Tanner

Nick Tanner, a Virtual Design and Construction Specialist has been with Jacobsen Construction in Salt Lake City, UT USA for 5 years. Nick holds a Masters of Architecture from University of Utah, is an active participant in the local BIM community in Salt Lake City, and has attended Autodesk University for 4 times. The Jacobsen Construction VDC department consists of 4 people and coordinated over 1 million sq ft (92,900 sq meters) in 2016.

Jacobsen Construction is a ENR top 200 general contractor and is an employee-owned company that has been in business for 95 years. Their 700+ employee company focuses on projects in the Healthcare, Higher Education, Public, and Religious Sectors with multiple awards and winner of Best of State for 3 years.

Depending on time constraints, it is proposed to have an Open Floor Discussion, like we have done previously, for anyone to come forward with any issues they would like to discuss and to problem solve.
